Irvon supply products to many sectors of the construction industry. It could be architect designed bespoke steel sections formed on our giant press brake and used in the most modern building projects. Or non-standard tubular piles rolled in the country’s biggest plate rolls.
With specialist knowledge we can advise and source special high strength low alloy steels that despite their strength form at tight radii. These products also weld more easily than conventional softer grades.
Durbar or Tear pattern plate is stocked in all thicknesses and can be sheared or plasma cut to size and then folded to customer requirements as required. A range of Cor-Ten® weathering steel is kept. Cor-Ten® forms a patina that is nearly impervious to oxygen and prolongs the life of a structure. When painted, weathering steel should last twice as long as ordinary steel. Cor-Ten® resists the effects of corrosion and is often used in industrial dampers or gas stacks.
Irvon are the only plate processor able to produce the very biggest cans needed in the manufacture of offshore wind towers in one piece. This is because we have both the rolling power and the lifting capacity needed.
